I have been in the commercial wine business since 1985, offering 35 years of experience now. I graduated as a Master of Wine in 1992 (second in continental Europe). My work consists of education, consultancy and interim management.As an experienced and highly qualified consultant I work for producers as well as distributors. I help wineries adjusting their offer to the international wine market with regards to the styles and qualities of the wines, the labelling and branding and the sales strategy (past and present references: Cooperativa de Liédena in Navarra, Pernod Ricard Spain, Abadia Retuerta and Goedwinemakers in Styria, Austria). Importers and distributors I help by creating the perfect portfolio and marketing it. Past and present references: HEMA, Thiessen Wijnkopers (immediately chosen 'Best Wineshop in the Netherlands'), Palais Coburg (best wine list in the world), Parkhotel Vitznau (where I created the best winecellar of Switzerland) and Da! and O'Key, two supermarketchains in Russia. As an educator I work in over 15 countries, to a large extent delivering WSET Level 3 and 4 lectures. I also am a regular speaker at trade and consumer events.Finally I am since 2019 winemaker in Navarra, Spain, where together with Ferdinand Mayr I produce one of the very best Garnachas in the country.
