Among the first 75 IKON employees to be trained as Black Belts by Six Sigma Academy. Two-year assignment to work projects with a minimum bottom line benefit per project of $250,000. First two projects involved improving Service Parts Warranty Capture in the United States. Total value of improvements exceeded $1.1 million per year. One project took process from –1.11 sigma baseline to 2.75 sigma with benefits of $873,859. Second related project improved process from –0.23 sigma baseline to 2.45 sigma with benefits of $271,722.

Departmental P&L responsibility for service operations from seven offices in Kansas and Oklahoma. Span of control included 5 service managers and 79 service technicians. Generated service revenues of $13,730,000 and contributed $6,812,400 to operating income in FY2003.• Led organization during period of aggressive internal growth and acquisition. Transitioned from local independent dealer to a Fortune 500 company.• Increased monthly service technician productivity from 800,000 to 1.75 million images per technician from FY1998 to FY2003. Images supported increased from 98 million to 132 million images per month. Machines supported increased from 10,800 to 14,099. Tech staffing decreased from 125 to 79.• Exceeded target response time of 4.14 hours with 4.12-hour average response time in August 2003. 83.4% of customers surveyed in FY2003 were “very satisfied” with service response.

Marketing computer-connected office products, including color copiers and digital copier/printers. Educated sales staff on basic computer concepts. Managed product development of the Freedom Series wire capture and text editing software for Mycro-Tek, a Wichita-based developer and integrator of newspaper computer systems. Led interdepartmental team for these products comprised of engineering, marketing, sales and operations employees. Selected as site leader managing installation, training, integration and customer relations at Freedom Series beta test site at Clarksville (Tenn.) Leaf-Chronicle.

Held a variety of positions involved with in-house and on-site customer training on Macintosh- and PC-based software products for a Wichita-based developer and integrator of newspaper computer systems. Developed training materials. Trained trainers. Provided phone support.

Billed about $50,000 per month based on approximately 50 contract accounts, 20 card rate contracts and numerous open rate advertisers. Newspaper was part of the Donrey Media Group owned by Donald W. Reynolds.
