I've been involved in a data migration project from the Yardi Pro 3.0 application to the cloud-based Yardi Voyager 7S system for the last year. It is almost complete.Alliance Property Systems manages 6,000 Condo and HOA units in South Florida, and need to migrate data from a system they've been using for 15 years. This involved parsing, conversion, and audit of Property, Unit, Tenant, Owner and Transaction data.We are working on Workflow & Security refinements, and Menu Sets to simplify the Yardi menus for each type of user in our universe.I've also written several YSR reports and modified or repaired SSRS, FillDocs, and Correspondence reports.

I developed an embedded GUI for a Pyrotechnic controller, working with an internal UX design department. The project was in C/C++, utilizing the EmWin software library.I collaborated with an expert UX designer on Adobe Edge to create the front end for a Video Conference Appliance that your grandmother could use. The UI integration with WebRTC streaming code was written in Javascript. The design was elegant and easy to use. As each party approached their device, an avatar would show their vicinity and sound level. The user would then touch the avatar to initiate a video conference.I designed and developed a 3rd party IP Video integration product called OpenHD. I also was the primary designer for a WebRTC Video Conference prototype. See projects below for a description.In addition, I consulted for Schneider Electric as a REST / SOAP / XML expert to help them integrate OEM camera partners into the Endura Video System. Endura networks can comprise up to 10,000 cameras, 1,000 NVRs, and 100's of Viewing systems. These projects involved network troubleshooting, heavy UPnP Web Services featuring multiple protocols: SOAP, HTTP, XML, TCP, RTP, UNICAST, MULTICAST, H264 Video. I employed multiple techniques to test debug the interactions between the cameras and the Endura recording and viewing devices, with Wireshark scans and headroom tests written in Python. In addition, I worked as a consultant for multiple clients over a period of a couple years. These projects are shown in the Projects section. I was able to sharpen my development knowledge and update myself on new technologies during this period.

Our team was tasked with creating a next generation IP Video system for the Cloud. I was a director on the team, and also performed as an individual contributor.I was the co-inventor of a patent METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSFORMATION BETWEEN IMAGE AND MAP. We used this method to create a ‘Marauder’s Map’ prototype for tracking the movement of people from multiple cameras and displaying the tracking data as an overhead map on a browser using Google mapping software.Also experimented with Sensor Fusion widgets to communicate movement information to iPhone, Android using Bluetooth LE.

I built a small team to quickly create multiple products for 3rd party Video integration. I was the software architect for two products, and oversaw the creation of an complete API for the Endura Video Management system. Finally, we built a product to allow Access Control and SCADA systems to to program the display of live and recorded video.I had a role in monitoring all the new customization requests from the field sales group, and also did an important hands-on project to allow legacy software to integrate with Endura via simple ASCII commands over RS232 and TCP/IP.We also provided help on using the API and many custom projects for different sales opportunities. I established and managed a 15 person team to generate an open interface and development libraries for 3rd Party integration. The team used C/C++ and Python to create libraries for different uses. Many new bids were won due to the customization and integration group. Millions in new sales were completed as a result.

Managed a 65 person organization consisting of Engineering Quality Assurance, OEM Engineering, Network Testing. I established the Current Product Engineering group to quickly solve field issues and fix key software issues between major releases.Our IP Video System could support 5,000 cameras with up to .5 Petabyte of Network Video Storage. It was difficult to simulate all the field issues for this type of system in the factory. My organization created better simulation tools and better testing processes for these systems.

OEM Engineering Manager of DX8000 Digital Video Recorder, which generated revenues of $100M per year for 8+ years. I also visited LG to consult on the lower-priced DX4000 product line, which was also highly successful for Pelco.I managed a team of 20 people which created the DX8000 product working with LG and our internal OEM Procurement group. We developed the Product Specification, interfaced with LG engineers in Korea, and performed Quality Assurance. In addition, FCC Certification was completed by our team in Clovis. Finally, the group also managed Production Ramp and Shipment. The DX8000 product generated over $800M in revenue over the life of the product.

Build a 10 person software team to develop and implement Snippets in Java. I was personally involved in the design and development of Snippets Toolbar application. Snippets were programmable icons on the toolbar, which opened into a HTML Template Mashup with more detail on the Snippet (Weather, Stock Info, etc) I co-developed the application and and managed the team of developers. I designed the HTML template language which included embedded Javascript and Python.

Design and Development of the QuickCad product in 6 months, a MAC-based acceleration product for AutoCAD. Improved redraw performance by 40X by reverse engineering the native driver and offloading display to QuickDraw accelerator board.
