Other responsibilities included labor negotiations, economic development, City/Township relations, developing a capital improvement fund, grant writing, citizen complaints, regional government cooperation, community recreation, waterfront issues, overseeing 200 acres of parks, open space, and neighborhood preservation, and day-to-day operations of the city.
