• Wrote and served as primary investigator for several SBIR grants.
• Lead engineer and primary algorithm developer for PROSurf, OptiPro’s computer aided manufacturing (CAM) package for manufacturing precision freeform and conformal optics.
• Serve as intermediary across departments to solve machining and safety problems. Collaborate with machine operators to optimize the tool paths to cut down on cycle times and with controls engineers to implement.
• Oversee software projects and day-to-day management of algorithm engineers and interns.
• Performs demonstration of software products for potential customers and implement software requirements from both internal company departments and external customers.
• Create training documentation. Provide remote and on-site customer software training, support, and troubleshooting.

-Collaborated with a team of engineers to develop a non-contact CMM user interface (UltraSurf) to allow for the generation of tool paths for measuring both rotational and freeform optics and the analysis of the resulting data. The software reduces risk to parts during measurements while collecting data and collects data much quicker than contact.

-Developed the first two versions of IntelliSonic software for OptiPro’s OptiSonic machines. This software interacts with both the CNC software controlling the machine and the software sending signals to the ultrasonic tool to reduce cutting loads up to 50% allowing for decreased tool wear and increased machining speeds.-Performed testing of machine.
