Step Outside with Paul Burt is a show that quite simply is for everyone wanting to “Step Outside” and learn where to go and what to do when they get there around the country. Keeping with the popular outdoor highlights of fishing, surfing, camping, caravanning, four wheel driving, cooking and of course boating.

As a Unit Assistant on the set of Nautilus I was responsible for maintaining the Second Unit locations. This included setting up and maintaining water stations, pop up shades for each department, coffee stations as well as catering to the specific needs of cast and crew members to ensure they can do their job comfortably.

For a semester of my studies at Bond, I was hired as an intern for the in-house marketing department. Through this role I learnt about how to represent the brand, ensuring that all content is kept consistent. During the period that I worked for Bond, I was in charge of the development of one major production including pitching, budgeting, scheduling and outsourcing the shooting to a media agency.

During yr11 at school, I completed a Certificate 3 apprenticeship in Screen & Media. This apprenticeship/Traineeship involved:- Creating content on behalf of the schools Media Department for Events, Learning Departments and Marketing.- Hands on experience filming for the Gold Coast Titans roughly once a month.- Shooting of in school events.- Completing assessments based on the traineeship in order to complete certification.

As apart of this opportunity I shadowed freelance camera operators who were filming Live Broadcasted vision for the Gold Coast Titans. Whilst shooting, the Camera Operators demonstrated and taught me skills that I would need to do the role myself. My main role was to follow the Operators with the their cables and ensure it was always kept tidy so no one would trip over it. Towards the end of the experience I was given the opportunity to Operate one of the cameras myself.
