Franky is a structural engineer with over 17 years experience working in leading consultancies in Singapore, Dubai and Jakarta. He is a licensed professional engineer in Indonesia and a registered chartered structural engineer in the UK. He has worked and collaborated with international teams of designers on projects in UAE, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Iran.His key projects include Grand Shamaya in Surabaya, Central Sulawesi post 2018 earthquake reconstruction program, 11 White House Park in Singapore, the Atmosphere sky club in Kolkata, Etihad Airways Centre in Abu Dhabi, Tradewinds Square in Kuala Lumpur, DIFC Gate Avenue in Dubai and 725 Wellington Street in Perth.Following a rewarding international career, in 2020 he co-founded Studio KaT in Jakarta for exploring and leveraging on the use of automation, computational design and machine learning technologies in design. He is now the Associate Director at DSI in UAE and Managing Director of DKON in Indonesia.At heart Franky is a design led engineer who appreciate good story telling in an inspired concept, with attention to detail and its practical execution on site. His comprehension of technological availability and advances in the industry enables him to deliver a design suited to the unique requirements of each project. He gains Client's and peer's trust with a genuine "can do" attitude combined with straightforward advising and recommendations. He spares no effort in getting the best solution for any project. Franky firmly believes in the positive role and responsibility of an engineer in the society. He initiated a rebuilding project to help villagers in Nepal rebuild their homes post April 2015 earthquake. He has provided consultancies and advisories in aid agencies and multi-national banks funded international development programs, particularly in building seismic resiliency and reconstruction projects. He is a full panel member of the IStructE Humanitarian and International Development Panel. He currently serves as the secretary of the Institute of Engineers Indonesia’s International Cooperation committee.
