Being a good accountant takes more than number-crunching, it's about seeing the bigger picture. While there is no greater satisfaction than reconciling a discrepancy down to the very last penny, for me, it's more about discovering why the discrepancy exists in the first place.I take a hands-on approach to accounting; there's no better way to improve a process than to do it first yourself. When I find myself saying, "There has to be a better way", I relish in this aha moment and undertake the task of finding the better way.
