I am passionate about promoting cultural exchange and the freedom of movement. Having grown up in South Texas and from an immigrant family myself, I developed a strong sense of advocacy for minority communities that later pushed me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations.Throughout my undergraduate career, I felt a pull to the immigration sphere. I embarked on a service trip to Nicaragua to record a documentary on sustainable development for disabled communities in Central America and later interned in Refugee Resettlement helping newly-welcomed migrants start their lives in the United States. After graduating, I took a whirl at immigration law by gaining a position at a private firm in my home city, San Antonio. As a paralegal, I directly worked with clients daily and shared their stories at USCIS interviews and in documentation to other government agencies. Here, I learned first hand the power of legal status and how the immigration system impacted my community as I grew up with a majority of fellow first-generation immigrants. I chose to pursue a legal career to help voice the needs of my community and promote the Latinx culture that makes San Antonio so special.Since coming to law school in the Washington D.C. area, I have clerked for both the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security in immigration related divisions. I am also involved in my law school's Immigration Law Society as president. In this role, I coordinate with private firms and organizations in the area to help advocate for discussions surrounding immigration policy in the DMV. At Murray Osorio PLLC, I assist in affirmative and defensive litigation, service-based petitions, and business immigration.
