Goal was to double the turnover to 40 million Dutch Guilders by 1998 and a further but slower growth in subsequent years. Managed a team of two program managers (space and aviation), a business administrator and a business lawyer. Identified business opportunities such as to achieve a balanced, sustainable and profitable growth with focus on license production and co-development of (sub)systems utilizing offset as market entry tool whenever possible. Structured, negotiated and concluded various long term agreements with amongst others Fokker Space (solar array mechanisms, magnetic torquers), Turbomeca (load compressor), Rolls Royce (engine starters), Eurocopter (composite drive shafts) and Honeywell (ACM’s, air flow valves, engine starters, load compressors and their spares) worth over 500 MEUR. Was closely involved in the Dutch industrial participation in the F35 Joint Strike Fighter. Identified the forward module of Honeywell’s PTMS as the work package for Urenco to participate in. Developed and implemented strategies of various kinds to be best in quality, lead-time, price, flexibility and innovation. Showed leadership in creating a climate of trust with employees, customers/licensors and suppliers. Represented Urenco Aerospace at Air Shows and other aerospace, space and defense trade exhibitions.
