Daraz is an Alibaba company, with operating markets in PK, BD, LK, NP, & MM and a HQ in SG. 4500 FTE, $900m annual GMV & 100m annual orders.*Revenue ($100m annual revenue)*- Led the Group’s Revenue team (6 FTE), which is focused on achieving revenue targets across multiple markets and business units, developing new revenue streams, and optimizing existing ones.- Conceptualized & implemented new buyer fees, such as a return fee and a Cash on Delivery fee, generating $5m in revenue in the first year of launch.- Optimized and harnessed processes of existing revenue streams, such as seller facing fees as commissions or payment fees (e.g. reduced commission loss with $3m/year).- Increased net profitability by 0.3 percentage points through targeted cost reduction initiatives, including the analysis of loss-making logistics lanes, sellers, and SKUs.- Re-engineered the buyer-facing shipping fee strategy to better align with growth and profitability goals.- Product design, development & implementation of the seller advertising tools, including search and display advertising.- GTM: built and led the advertising team (20 FTE) across 3 out of 5 markets, achieving $2.5m in revenue in the first year.*Risk*- Established and led the Group’s Risk Management Division (>100 FTEs) from the ground up, encompassing business risk, payment risk, cyber security, and corporate ICT security teams.- Improved the transaction block rate to ~8-10% of attempted transactions, with a false positive rate <1%.- Successfully defended more than 100 DDoS attacks annually (with Daraz experiencing more frequent severe attacks than the sister company AliExpress globally).- Spearheaded the implementation of ISO27001, data privacy frameworks, and a group risk management framework.- Transformed the risk strategy from a reactive and rule-based approach, to a principle-driven and algorithm-based strategy.- Product scoping & design of the risk-engine and risk-related features across departments.

Managing Director of the Myanmar business (1 out of 5 countries of Daraz Group), part of group management team- Full ownership of the Myanmar country P&L, 1 out of the 5 Daraz operating markets.- Expanded the team from 50 to 500 employees and grew the annual GMV from $500k to $20m.- Established a full in-house logistics network, encompassing first-, middle-, and last-mile, as well as warehousing with as a result better-than-market cost per package and higher customer NPS scores.- Led the change management and implementation for the re-platforming of the entire tech ecosystem – spanning seller-, buyer-, and employee interfaces - from Rocket Internet’s platform to Alibaba’s technology infrastructure.

The Knaek is a student discount card tailormade to every Dutch student city. Responsible for the acquisition, marketing and promotion of the Knaek in my student city: Nijmegen.

Participation in the highly selective course 'United Nations and Multilateral Diplomacy: Theory and Practice' with 27 other students selected across The Netherlands. The program includes intense sessions on public speaking, negotiations, active listening, the writing of speeches, and United Nations resolutions. It also includes lectures and masterclasses by diplomats and academics on all practical and theoretical dimensions that play a role in the international sphere. The three axes of the program are the Oxford University Model United Nations conference (November), the New York training week (February), and the Harvard University National Model United Nations conference (February).
