I have always enjoyed art, culture, fashion and music which resulted in me studying history of art. What I particularly appreciated were the excursions to different countries – similarly to a pilgrimage – a journey to a foreign place, in search of other landscapes, people and cultures which results in a refreshed view of oneself and of what is around. This resulted in me becoming a tour guide being able to combine my knowledge in art history together with my leadership skills. Guiding and looking after people individually and in groups enabled me to provide them with a professional and memorable holiday experience. Having taught German to groups of young adults and staff at the university in England, gave me the chance not just to deliver a foreign language but to make it interesting by bringing in relevant topics for different type of students. My mother tongue is German and my English is at C1/C2 level (CEFR) as I have studied in England and have been living there for more than 20 years. Through tour guiding and teaching I have gained good hands-on planning and organisational skills with a flexible and solution-focused approach and ‘can do’ attitude. I am an open-minded and experienced individual who enjoys communicating, assist and support people of all walks of life, providing excellent interpersonal skills. My ideal work environment is to value each other, keep a sense of humour and remain professional.
