In my role as a Robotics Engineer, I specialize in the project management and technical design of bespoke technology and robotic solutions. My work involves developing a technical scope, managing projects to create customer-centric solutions, and spearheading system design for technology implementation. This includes 3D design and manufacturing of robotic tooling and fixtures, electronics and sensor integration, software development, and robotic programming.Among my key achievements, I am proud to have been part of the research team that developed the revolutionary "See & Spray" technology for John Deere. This technology was instrumental in significantly reducing herbicide use on crops by up to 77% through targeted application.I have also led projects conducting Time & Motion studies for red meat processors, identifying and recommending valuable process changes to achieve optimal efficiencies through human ergonomics.My work within R&D has seen me deliver numerous automation projects for red meat processing to increase yield and lower processing costs, including deboning, fat trimming, and cutting tasks. These innovations earned me the Industry Award from the Australian Meat Processors Corporation and the Minister's Award on behalf of the Australian Government in 2021.In addition to these achievements, I've developed a visualization software that uses Augmented Reality (AR) to provide vital information to slicers, boosting yields by 84%.My work involves the use of advanced technologies and methodologies including Project Specification & Management, 3D Design Software & CAD, Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing, Electronics & Hardware Design, Machine Vision & Advanced Sensing Technologies, Programming & Software Design, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Augmented Reality & Visualization App Development.

I'm conducting research within the red meat processing industry alongside international companies such as ABB (robotics) and JBS (largest red meat processor in the world) through one of USQ's research centres, Centre of Agricultural Engineering (CAE). The robotic system I'm working with industry to develop specifically targets the automated task of trimming fat from the beef strip-loin (the most valuable component of the carcass - the product that T-Bone and Porterhouse cuts are created from) - which has an estimated value of $89 million to the Australian red meat industry annually.Additionally, the research I'm currently conducting will not only be a world-first application of automating this process, but it will also address the design principles for operating in an environment the majority robots today cannot cope with: flexible, non-rigid interfaces.

Through my role as a USQ Student Ambassador I have been able to personally connect one-on-one with hundreds of students across Australia. I've been able to educate students through STEM workshops, draw from my own career development and industry experience to inform them of various career progression opportunities as well as inspire students to chase their passion towards their own "dream" job.

I currently work with schools to develop how they may more effectively utilise various STEM technologies to provide more engaging, industry-aligned focus through the curriculum.
