Managing a team of 5-7 engineers to help and facilitate them to provide excellent service to our customer base assisting to improve effectiveness and performance. This includes mentoring and teaching team members fundamental skills required to support the products, assisting on issues and taking customer service escalations. Running the team also requires regular one to one sessions and yearly appraisals ranging a variety of topics including company targets, career progressions and engineer’s requirements.While managing my team and their targets I also continue to provide software support at a higher level mostly on escalated and more complex issues. Providing support to consultants internally assisting them with projects on site with customers assisting anyone in the business who requires help on any parts of our software, SQL, IT, IIS or company process.All of this is done working closely with the local support manager taking on extra projects including setting up training, writing documentation and providing customers with chargeable and free of charge work.This has also included various site visits to customers to understand support needs or to take handovers from the consultant delivery teams.During this role I have continued to improve and learn new skills, languages and software, this has included working with various languages PHP, XML, SQL, C# and Java. Working on a variety of standard software packages to troubleshoot and progress issues SQL Management Studio, MySQL Workbench, IIS, Command Line, Visual Studio and a variety of other packages.

Support Engineer:Providing software support on a range of different software on a variety of platforms to a range of small to large customers with varying requirements. The helpdesk was not made up of multiple levels of support which meant providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to customers. Support provided was on financial management software, this required a fundamental knowledge of accountancy to be able to assist customers on cashbook and reconciliation problems. Other types of software that I supported included CRM packages (Goldmine, SugarCRM) a timesheet and costing application on a website (IIS) platform. The role allowed for thorough skill progression in SQL, General IT assistance, IIS troubleshooting and constantly working on customer service skills.Working with other members of the team to improve personal knowledge while giving back to them where possible created a strong team atmosphere. Reported to a team leader who assisted on escalations and provided mentoring on improving skills and career progression.
