The Walcot Foundation is a charity based in the borough of Lambeth, which provides charitable grants to individuals and organisations in the borough, with the goal of providing educational opportunities for those affected by modern day poverty and disadvantage. Since April 2023 I have worked as an Operations and Administrative Officer, and I’m responsible for managing the foundation’s estate of 115 properties that generate its income. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and through this I've developed positive relationships with our tenants, contractors and other stakeholders. I have developed a thorough working knowledge of the private rental sector, am familiar with the statutory responsibilities that landlords have, the rights of tenants, as well as more specialist areas of legislation such as Registered Rents and Energy Efficiency. I have had to prioritise effectively to deal with urgent issues like repairs, work to meet deadlines, and to work independently when required. Since April I have kept the estate running smoothly on a day to day basis, effectively dealt with difficult issues when required, as well as lead on a new project of upgrades focused on our longest standing tenants.

NHS England are responsible for commissioning healthcare services across England. During a crucial time when the NHS was delivering a vaccine rollout and recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic, I worked in their London office as a Freedom of Information (FOI) case officer. In this role I was responsible for gathering and analysing a large volume of information including complex data, in order to respond to FOI requests and Parliamentary questions. I was required to liaise with subject matter experts within the NHS itself, as well as with external organisations such as Department for Health and Social Care. This required excellent oral and written communication skills to gather all of the data I needed, and to advise all concerned about how the FOI process works. I used a wide range of software to present this data in an accessible format and to draft a response to the applicant, and I have developed a good working knowledge of the FOI Act’s many exemptions. As a result, I completed thousands of cases to a high standard and within the Act’s statutory deadline. Key Achievements: - Completed the Freedom of Information Act Practitioner Certificate in October 2022- Worked on a number of high profile cases such as hospital use of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, and the release of statistics related to the COVID-19 pandemic - Consistently met or exceeded my team’s delivery targets.

Liberal Reform is a pressure group within the Liberal Democrats that exists to promote personal liberty and a fair society. After a successful 2 years as policy lead, I was elected by my fellow members to serve as co-chair from January 2021. I am responsible for setting and reaching our policy and campaigning objectives. I manage other board members and act as the main figurehead of the organisation. So far I have implemented and overseen a successful restructure of the organisation's board, transformed our comms strategy, and taken the lead on our latest long-term campaign which focuses on improving the party’s policy on housing.

In 2019, I was headhunted to serve as Liberal Reforms policy lead. During this time I wrote two items that were selected for debate at Liberal Democrat party conference. I worked to collaborate with other organisations within the party on areas of mutual interest, and developed comprehensive and ambitious policy on increasing the provision of affordable housing and supporting the Excluded 3 million during Covid.

HSBC are one of the world's largest banks, and since January 2019 I have been working in their Business Review Centre as a financial analyst. In this role I am responsible for gathering and analysing a large volume of data in order to make decisions on complex complaints cases. I am proficient at using various internal IT systems to access financial information, as well as Microsoft Office to catalogue and present my findings, whilst adhering to all strict procedures regarding data protection. I also provide accurate advice to customers, both over the phone and in writing, dealing with any issues that arise in a timely and professional manner. More recently I was selected to work on “Project Eagle”, which involves sending out refunds to thousands of previous customers, due to a retrospective review of the bank’s collections & recoveries processes. Key Achievements: - Promoted to "expert" in Jan 2020, which includes an additional responsibility for training new staff.- Consistently met or exceeded my department’s productivity and quality targets.- Completed training and accreditation for 7 separate complaint handling processes.

In 2019 I volunteered for the Liberal Democrats in my hometown, during a crucial election year both locally and nationally. I was a candidate during the local elections, standing in the council ward that I grew up in. I also helped create a digital profile for all our key candidates, and put in many hours on the doorstep campaigning, taking great pride in listening to voters' concerns. As a reward for our efforts, our team was able to gain joint control of North Somerset Council and have since made a real difference to our community. And during the 2019 general election I ran the digital side of the campaign myself, using Canva and Photoshop to produce appealing graphics, directing and editing our campaign video, and utilising Facebook ads to target particular groups of voters. This campaign achieved a large amount of cut through and reached around 50,000 people in total.

During my postgraduate studies I worked part time at Marks and Spencer during the busy Christmas period. During this time I worked effectively under pressure during peak hours, handling any complaints in a professional manner. I developed exceptional interpersonal skills by working with a large team, and regularly took the time to help new staff settle in. At certain times I was also responsible for the whole Homeware section of the store, which I always kept re-stocked, and I ensured that the shop floor was clean and organised to deliver the best possible shopping experience for our customers.

Mivan are a construction company that specialise in interiors for cruise liners and luxury apartments. In 2017 I provided strategic support to help deliver the logistically-challenging Chelsea Barracks fit-out contract. I was able to simultaneously fulfil numerous administration duties across several departments of Mivan, using programs like Word, Excel and others. I also digitised hundreds of documents and archives to modernise the day to day running of the company.

The Badger is the student newspaper produced by the University of Sussex Students Union, and during the 2016/17 academic year I served as letters editor. I was responsible for managing a team of writers, and ensuring that our content was of high quality and ready before our print deadline every week. I utilised WordPress and Adobe In Design to produce pages that were appealing and interesting for our readers, reflecting a diversity of thought.
