Hi! I’m Fraser, an ambitious and analytical Biologist with a passion for molecular/cellular research who is looking for new projects that continue to increase our understanding of the world.My current work within the NCJDRSU at the University of Edinburgh, has provided me invaluable experience in working with highly infectious prion proteins to better understand their structural and biochemical makeup. This work, in addition to my previous lab placements, has allowed me to gain knowledge of biological instrumentation along with the adaptability to learn new and modern techniques as demonstrated by my expertise in molecular biology, Western blot, PCR, cell culture, hsPMCA, etc. Aside from my love for biology, I love pushing myself and continually learning, either through fitness & nutrition, or by photography and travel. As well as my work in labs at various academic institutions such as the University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, and Heriot-Watt University, I have gained knowledge in data and statistical analysis with experience in Rstudio as well as ongoing courses in Python and coding . I get excited about opportunities to learn in biomedicine and am constantly seeking to expand my knowledge of innovative scientific technologies. I love connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds to learn about new research breakthroughs in both academia and industry.
