Current first year MEng student at Heriot Watt University for mechanical engineering. I was brought to this course due to my passion for cars and their workings especially the designing and improvement of performance parts. I currently work at KFC Straiton and have worked for KFC for over a year now.During my time there I have been capable of being trained in all roles short of amanagerial role. My typical duties while there are to cook the meat and manage thekitchen in an extremely fast-paced environment selling upwards of £1,000s of foodproduct an hour in peak times. I must make sure the place is clean while also ensuringthe store does not run out of food during this duty. My other duties there includeacting as a member of staff at the front of the store where I run the till or pack theorders and deal with customers in a timely manner and resolving any issues. I havebeen put forth for position as manager previously due to my ability and knowledgehowever due to changing stores I have not, but I am still able to show this managerialability when helping customers or processing refunds. I have also had a weeks work experience through Leonardo which had given me an insight into the engineering workplace and took me through the various roles of an engineer specifically a mechanical engineer.
