I studied chemistry at the University of Braunschweig, where I received her doctorate in 2009 in the field of macromolecular chemistry. I was employed as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut WKI since 2008 and dealt with fire protection coatings, wood-polymer-composite (WPC) and chemical wood modification. I gained experience in the field of adhesive technology (European Adhesive Specialist, EAS) as a research assistant at the Technical University of Braunschweig at the Institute for Joining and Welding from 2013 to 2015 and I was employed again at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut WKI as a research assistant in the field of chemical wood modification, development of wood foam and formaldehyde-free adhesives and structural adhesives for wood-based materials. Since 2018, I have been leading the department "Binders and Coatings" and I am working on the synthesis of bio-based binders for coatings, adhesives and 3D printing materials.
