  Operation Gambia raises funds and takes donations from individuals, families, schools and church groups in the U.K. and tries to help children in Gambia with vital and often life-saving healthcare, school fees and school materials.We help selected families establish micro-enterprise projects to provide a regular, sustainable income for that family, and support them as they try to grow their business.We also fund a football academy for under 16's which provides free football training… Show more Operation Gambia raises funds and takes donations from individuals, families, schools and church groups in the U.K. and tries to help children in Gambia with vital and often life-saving healthcare, school fees and school materials.We help selected families establish micro-enterprise projects to provide a regular, sustainable income for that family, and support them as they try to grow their business.We also fund a football academy for under 16's which provides free football training, educates the youngsters on how they can avoid deadly diseases such as Malaria, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, as well as Pneumonia and other deadly illnesses, and improves their understanding of nutrition and being healthy.We are currently looking to establish a small garden project where members of the football academy will help to cultivate a small piece of land, whilst learning about horticultural techniques and best-practice.All of our trustees and volunteers both in the U.K. and in Gambia are self-funding so every penny donated is spent on vital projects in Gambia.
