Responsible for assigning, instructing, and checking work for a group of test mechanics.Forecast/coordinate maintenance, calibration, and/or modification of various types of complex support equipment.Review procedures, drawings/prints, work instructions and specifications while interfacing with engineering to meet balancing, assembling, mounting, and testing requirements on new or developmental hardware.Proficient in handling of liquid cryogenics (LH2/LOX/LN2), operation of high pressure steam and gaseous storage systems, preparation of hardware, setups, and testing of the product (RL10).Operate multiple test panels for hot fire engine testing to include: LOX/LH2 cool down, Purge, and Engine Trim.Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and sub-assembly transportation equipment, and other ground support equipment.Experience continued: Receive/mount/instrumentation/test/dismount/ship an RL10 (CX) rocket engine. Test stand hot fire countdown qualified. Offloading/tanking of LH2, LOX, and LN2. Qualified in area high pressure gas composition and particulate sampling (GN2/GH2/GHe). High pressure tube bending/flaring (AN/Swagelok/Auto-clave). Operate/maintain LH2 pumps for vaporization to GH2 to 10000psi. Operate/maintain GHe pumps for compression to pressures over 4400psi. Multiple area gaseous distribution. Operate a Boiler for production of steam in accumulators (6) to pressures above 220psi. Operation of area main firewater systems over 40acres.
