It has over $4 billion in total electric revenue and $11.5 billion in assets, and experiences annual customer growth of 2.1 percent. Core functions include four regional operations departments, a distribution engineering organization and transmission operations and planning for the Carolinas. The PEC organization also managed the customer service function for PEC and Progress Energy Florida, through one customer service center in North Carolina and two in Florida, which handled all call center operations, meter reading, credit and collection for over $8 billion in revenue. The holding company for PEC is Progress Energy, headquartered in Raleigh, a Fortune 250 diversified energy company with more than 21,000 megawatts of generation capacity, $10 billion in annual revenues and $11 billion in market capitalization. Its two electric utilities serve more than 3.1 million customers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
