Currently pursuing Design & Construction Management assignments encompassing a broad base of project responsibilities including Value-Engineering Services, Program Management, Design Management, Project Management & Supervision, Contract Specialist & Administrator, and Owner Representation.My career experience began with 13 years in Architectural and Industrial Design, Structural Engineering, and Facilities and Project Management before becoming a state certified General Contractor in 1982. Have acquired another 40+ years of extensive experience in commercial construction, light industrial and custom residential projects, encompassing design-build services for over 350 projects -- many of them being repeat clients -- and including pre-development, organizational, and Construction Management services when requested. Have a special fondness for Church design and construction (Congregations of 200 to 800 members). Am included on the Florida state registry as having performed projects requiring historical restoration. Passed the NASCLA examination in South Carolina in September of 2016.Have provided custom residential design services. Provided consulting, independent cost opinions and budget analysis to Banks, Churches, and Developers. Am continuing to provide methods and procedures consultation (Mentoring) to other construction professionals, and interested youth through the ACE Mentoring program.Studied and acquired a special knowledge of Pre-Engineered Metal Building design from multiple manufacturers. Provide related instructional learning seminars to local Building Inspectors.Served as a member of the Building Codes Adjustment Board (BCAB), for the Jacksonville City Council, for 6 years, and as its Chairperson for 2 years.Additionally, hold certifications in disaster relief response, and volunteer coordination; am a certified ERT Trainer, and have performed pre-deployment assessments for relief teams. Serve as the NE Florida District Disaster Response Coordinator (DDRC), and as a member of the Disaster Management Advisory Team (DMAT) for the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church.
