From an early age I thought I wanted to be a chef! I went to college for Hotel/Restaurant management with my eye on becoming a chef. Then it happened, my first college internship was at the front desk of a Holiday Inn, and I was hooked. I wanted to be at the front of house, not back of house! Early in my career I had a great GM who allowed me to work in all departments of a full service hotel. After trying all of the departments (and not liking being a line cook!) I found my passion, the Sales Office!After a lackluster performance in my first sales role, I moved to another hotel and found my sales Mentor, Scott. He was the ultimate salesperson who could proverbially sell “ice to Eskimos”, but in a good way, not in a smarmy used car salesman way. With Scott’s guidance he helped me get my first big break and I was hired into a large full service hotel just outside Philadelphia, and it was game on!I have now spent 30+ years in Hospitality Sales (and Operations) which includes 11 years in a Corporate Senior Area Manager role with IHG. After leaving IHG I wanted to continue my passion for hospitality sales and was lucky enough to connect with Giri Hotel Management as their Corporate Director of Sales. Last year I was elevated to Vice President of Sales and every day I live my dream, working my passion with an incredible company!
