His Java skills are what allows him to be so versatile. He's worked in front-end, back-end, on-premise, and Cloud. He is motivated to keep up-to-date with Java evolution and use that knowledge to create versatile and clean code. Fred's curiosity and drive to learn new things is evident in the variety of features, products, functionality, technologies, and products that he develops and manages for the team. He is keenly interested in big data processing, and he has given a well-received seminar on the topic to the team. His seminars are always well-attended because Fred will search out and research an interesting new technology and educate the rest of the team on how we will benefit from incorporating it into our development. Fred is always willing to help out colleagues and customers with bugs, features, setting up environments. The PaaS user assistance (documentation) team has been especially appreciative of Fred's help in setting up and maintaining development environments for them. The same for the product management team - they often reach out to Fred to help with environment issues or help with features. His curiosity and love of learning also extends beyond tech, making him a enjoyable conversationalist. He is also an excellent writer which he used extensively to document specification, creating learning tools for the team, and correspond with production management and customers.
