The National Program for Community Empowerment (PNPM) Peduli—a program funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)—is expected to improve social inclusion across Indonesia by increasing access to services, choices, and human rights for those who have been marginalized. The program is designed to improve people’s access to public services (health, education, legal, administration, and financial), to employment opportunities, and to participation in broader community processes. PNPM Peduli is also expected to improve social relations between marginalized people and broader community members, as well as to improve social inclusion policies and regulations issued by the national and local governments.PNPM Peduli will support social inclusion for marginalized people in six specific sub-populations over the next 2.5 years, namely: (1) Vulnerable children/youth; (2) Traditional people, indigenous people in remote areas, and forest-dependent people; (3) Religious minorities; (4) Victims of gross human rights abuses in 1965 and 1998; (5) People living with disabilities; (6) Waria. The managing partner is The Asia Foundation (TAF) which will achieve its objective by working directly with a team of six (6) Executing Organizations (EOs)—one per sub-population—and about 70 civil society organizations (CSOs) that will receive grants from EOs to conduct their work promoting social inclusion.The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Specialist is part of The Asia Foundation’s team managing support to civil society organizations (CSOs) under PNPM Peduli. This is a two-year management position coordinating positive impacts on some of Indonesia’s most challenging development issues. The Specialist is working within The Asia Foundation.

Responsible for managing and implementing the AusAID-funded Inclusive System for Effective Eye-care (I-SEE) project in Bandung, West Java in coordination with CBM’s partners, the Cicendo National Eye Centre Hospital (CNECH) and Bandung District Health Office, as well as DPOs (Disabled People Organisations) and other stakeholders.

* Map out potential ideas for use of technologies for achieving our development objectives as outlined in the new CSP. This would be done in consultations with VSO staff, partners, volunteers and other relevant stakeholders including donors, corporate, organizations dealing with technologies that can be used for development etc.*Select approximately 5-6 most suitable ideas and complete feasibility analysis. Develop proposal and implementation plan to secure funding to implement those ideas. Support pilot of at least one idea with support of unrestricted funds of VSO Malawi.*Document and share learning with key stakeholders in Malawi as well as with other country programmes of VSO in the Southern Africa Region.

• Working together with the Director to set up fund raising strategies and activities, such as photo exhibition, children singing concert, video documentary, Facebook fan site, blog website and e-newsletters.• Fund raiser for sustainable income generation project such as mushroom, pig farm and fish pond to individuals, organizations and churches.• Raise awareness for child rights and basic education for children and anti-orphanage tourism campaign.• Recruit and help volunteers to adapt to the orphanage life.

• Research on environmental, foreign law investment, historical and cultural sites of the Rakhine/Arakan state and its people. Research on the development impacts to the life of people in Rakhine/Arakan State, Burma especially along the Kaladan River.• Develop and design campaign and advocacy tools using websites, maps, videos, posters and animations.• Internet media/news research on China’s gas pipeline project - Shwe Gas Project and Kaladan River Multimodal Transit Project of Indian.• Write monthly media summary for the monthly research report.• Give training and knowledge transfer on digital imaging, web design/admin and video editing to the local staffs and volunteers. • Proposal writing to get funding for Data Collection and Management activity

• Working together with Monitoring and Evaluation Experts from International Republican Institute (IRI), USA and CORE coordinators to develop a Monitoring and Evaluation system for CORE project to support its campaign and advocacy activities and bridging the communication between the inside Burma activist leaders and Thai Border organizations.• Design and develop reporting and database system for Monitoring and Evaluation purposes• Give training and share awareness about the Internet security issues especially for data collection activities.

Working with Human Rights Education Institute of Burma (HREIB) as Data Management Adviser.• Together with HREIB Program Coordinators (PCs), Field Coordinator and Deputy Director, evaluate and develop HREIB’s data management and reporting systems by evaluated the current data collection systems, processes and analysis.• Work with the Deputy Director and Coordinators, training/mentoring them to improve their individual data management and reporting processes and understanding.• Investigate potential for streamlining and/or redesigning current data management and reporting methods to maximize their efficiency and utilization.• Provide support and facilitation for the skills training and project realization of HREIB staff in relation to data management systems and their application, as required
