Working within the Estates & Building to ensure the Uni meet its FS legal requirements. To develop an Estates & Building Fire Safety Action Plan,and PPM for all fire related equipment, manage delivery of multiple construction & engineering projects. Prepare recommendations and action plans and or remedial actions regarding Fire Risk Assessment. Provide professional advise on capital works programmes to Estates Development Managers and appointed Design Teams ensuring that all relevant FS issues are considered in proposed projects. To develop & propose fire engineering or management solutions where compliance within recognised Standards/Codes cannot be achieved.Prepare detailed specifications of fire safety improvements works for the fabric and engineering systems, manage delivery of the specified works.

Main duties include, maintaining all aspects of Fire Safety for the Airport, including fire safety training, inspections fire safety advice and risk assessments. Provide First Aid cover and First Responded for Scottish Ambulance Service.

Have just finished a 12 month contract with City of Glasgow college as there FSO now going to be a man of leisure unless something interesting comes along.

Responsible for the day to day delivery of Fire Safety advice, ensure compliance of Fire Safety Legislation, provide training to staff in a range of fire safety disciplines, Carry out Fire Risk Assessments for all College building. Provide updates to College heads on all aspects of fire safety provisions, carry out and report on Fire Evacuation Drills.Provide advice to Health & Safety Manager on Fire Safety issues.

Carried out Fire Risk Assessments for a range of clients, and properties, provide detailed reports.

My final post was as Group Commander, Senior Fire Safety Enforcement Officer within East Ayrshire & East Renfrewshire, I have also responsibilities for Health & Safety for the same area. I was part of the area management team responsible for providing fire cover, management duties for 3 whole time and 7 retained stations, and the general fire safety requirements of the area. Prior to taking up the Fire Safety post I was Group Commander Personnel and Training,providing support to the Area Management team on all aspects of personnel recruitment, training, training budgets etc.

Provide instruction and mentoring to new students, deliver National Occupational Standards in Fire Fighting, Breathing Apparatus, and Road Traffic Accidents for experience Fire Fighters. Assess trainees and junior officers in career progression. Ensuring all aspects of H&S within the training environment is maintained.
