Fred Jacoby is an attorney/commercial litigator with an emphasis on financial services and real estate, insurance and construction law. Fred has a notably diverse experience and is a sought-after advocate, adviser and consultant for companies in the construction, real estate and financial services industries. He served as Vice Chairman of the Firm and a member of its Advisory Committee that counsels the Firm’s Board of Directors and Management Committee until his retirement at the end of December 2023, as well as its Benefit Committee.As part of his Construction Law practice, Fred represented owners (public and private), contractors, sureties and construction managers in substantial economic disputes with stakes ranging from several million to several hundred million dollars, and in labor relations and Title VII actions, and was counsel for Federal Insurance Company in its litigation involving the Enron Controversy and for the Construction Manager in the Tropicana Garage Collapse litigation in New Jersey.  He has also served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Court of Common Pleas Commerce Court of Philadelphia County.From a financial services standpoint, in addition to substantial litigation matters, Fred represented insurers, insured parties, sureties, broker-dealers and other registered representatives in litigation involving and the development and distribution of financial services and insurance products, with particular emphasis on property and casualty insurance, surety bonds and the life settlement market. He also advised brokers, consultants and business and private clients regarding their formation and use of captive insurance companies.
