Fred Maate is a medical doctor with specialization in pathology. He has over ten years' experience of working in both urban and rural Zambia. He once served as Acting Clinical Care Specialist at the Provincial Medical Office in the Western province of Zambia coordinating district medical offices in the provision of clinical services with collaboration of partners. He is passionate about cervical cancer prevention and early diagnosis. He is a trained cervical cancer treatment provider using Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure. Fred helped coordinate the provision of mobile health services in Western Province of Zambia which included the provision of both surgical and medical services to hard-to-reach populations of rural Zambia.Fred was driven to study pathology to help close the gap for cervical cancer diagnosis and indeed other cancers. He is keenly interested in research collaboration, and mentorship for cervical cancer diagnosis and prevention. He is also interested in gynecologic pathology and urologic pathology research. He also has interest in public health research involving mortality surveillance.
