Max Q Systems specializes in the hardware and software design and integration ofsophisticated electronic control systems. Responsibilities included technical proposal support, schedule, cost, and designresponsibility for the Inertial Upper Stage (IUS) power supplies. Responsible for thedevelopment of the IUS team of five engineers and several support people.

Responsible for strain gauges, charge amplifiers, power supplies, and instrumentation forspacecraft and ground test equipment.

Responsible for final engineering evaluation for the Global Positioning Satellite powersupply. Also designed a second generation Ultrasonic Missile Nose Tip Recession Gauge(Model 329). This system required design of the following circuits: power supply, filtercircuits, programmable gain amplifier, high speed analog to digital and digital to analogconvertors, digital noise averaging circuit, multiplexer, logic, and piezoelectrictransducer drive circuits. Also exercised overall system design responsibility.

In the analog circuit area, responsible for the design of FSK oscillators and analogfilters. Also designed the DC to DC converter for MSI Model 1100 transmitter. This powersupply was 84% efficient, while converting 4.8 VDC to +5 VDC, +12 VDC, -10 VDC. Alsodesigned various voltage and current regulators for system power supplies. Designed theMSI 280 Data Receivers using the MCS 4 Microprocessor. This receiver receives data via thetelephone lines from MSI transmitters and stores this data on a cassette tape. This datamay then be transferred to a card punch. Designed all the various circuits and controllersfor this receiver, as well as being

Completed the design and performed the analysis for the Datum Model 2116 Hydraulic ServoController. This controller was involved with the structural testing of the B-1 Bomber.Also completed the design of the a formatter and controller for the Datum 655 RotatingDrum Memory. Worked on a system using this controller and drum with DEC PDP 8 Computer.

Assisted in the design and development in the Data Technology Milliverter II andMilliverter III. These systems are analog multiplexers utilizing variable gain sample-and-hold with 14 and 15 bit ADCs. Also assisted in the design and development of the 15 bitADC used in the above system. Assisted in the development of the Multiverter III. This isa 15 bit high speed (100KHz) ADC.
