I like to build things. When I was about 10, my grandfather gave me an old console Hi-Fi. To keep it, I had to convince my mom that it would fit in my bedroom. And it did... I took out all the components and reinstalled them in an old orange crate. Everything worked great and the extra heat was nice, too!Since then I have made it my mission to decipher the inner workings of every device or system that I encounter. That includes vehicles, power tools, computers, software and businesses. I also like to understand the human beings that create and operate these things. Technology does not happen without someone pitching an idea, leading the way, inspiring commitment and pleasing the consumer.My career trajectory has evolved from craftsmanship to manufacturing to software development to business collaboration. I have solved many technical challenges along the way. One recent project was a distributed software architecture that supports interactive offline mapping and interchangeable data collection forms on iPad devices. Different local and remote databases are involved along with at least 6 programming languages and a broad range of participants.Every project I've done reaffirms the same lesson: people skills are the foundation of success.
