Fred leads a diverse and dynamic team that coordinates the response to all emergent conditions impacting King County Metro Transit. This includes safety, security, service and environmental incidents that impact fixed route service. The group is the initial point of contact for emergencies had by mobility services operations, Facilities and Base Operations. The Transit Control Center supports ST Link, Sounder and Seattle Streetcar service by mustering diesel busses when needed to augment their service. Fred serves as the chair of the Adverse Weather Planning Committee, member of the Accident Review Board, Steering Committee for the interagency Virtual Control Center, and is the agencies point of contact for SafePlace. Fred serves as the Lead Director of the Department Operations Center providing incident command for high impact events such as adverse weather, social unrest and natural disasters.

This team coordinates short term construction planning, trolley deactivations, park & ride enforcement, comfort stations for the operators and the revenue processing center. They negotiate with thirty seven local jurisdictions and consult on capital and long term projects. They make sure that King County Metro has the most understandable, consistent and accessible plan in place to respond to emergent events that impact the agencies right of way.

Worked in a Base Dispatch, Transit Control Center and Field Supervision. This ranges from traffic collision investigation, staff management, adhering to the ATU 587 labor contract, emergency management, logistics and helping gain policy compliance from transit operators.

Coordinate operational responses to construction projects that impact transit service. Areas of focus are all east side, Eastlink, SR99 Viaduct along with shared coverage of the downtown Seattle Core.

6 months acting Chief of Operations at Ryerson Base, 3 Months acting Chief of Operations at Ryerson Base, 3 Months acting Chief of Operations at the Transit Control Center. All three of these roles involved light HR duties, working with base staff to make sure the base was supported and operators were counseled and trained as needed.
