Assist in the determination of guidelines for the collection of clinical data and/or administration of clinical studies.Coordinate and implement procedures to collect data from patient charts, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources; evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare appropriate documentation; obtain blood samples, cultures, tissues and other specimens for laboratory analysis. Ensure compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; identify problems and/or inconsistencies and Monitor patients' progress to include documentation and reporting of adverse events; recommend corrective action as appropriate.Evaluate and interpret collected clinical data in conjunction with principal investigator(s) as appropriate; prepare oral presentations or written reports and analyses setting forth progress, trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Confer with principal investigator(s) to assist in developing plans for research projects and to discuss the interpretation of results; collaborate on the preparation of manuscripts for publication.Coordinate the development of forms, questionnaires and the application of research techniques; assist in writing procedures manuals for data collection and coding. Review journals, abstracts and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous studies to aid in the planning of new studies.

Department Of Surgery

In the outpatient setting, I floated between many disciplines of surgery, including, general surgery, colorectal, ears, nose and throat, trauma, burns, vascular, podiatry, bariatric, and wound care. It is my responsibility to facilitate physician’s schedules, bringing patients into exam rooms and, using electronic medical records charting, perform new patient intakes, follow up visits and post operative visits. I perform vital signs, assisting with in office procedures as well as doing wound dressings when needed. Ordering supplies, sterilizing scopes, sending out specimens to the lab and maintaining tracking of results, and setting up sterile cases as per physician/case specifications. Theser are just some of the responsibilities. Currently, I work full time in the ENT department.

In a 150 bed capacity assisted living facility specializing in the care of residents with dementia, Under the direction of the Director of Personal Care, it was my duty to collect data relevant to the heath status of residents while prioritizing care issues as related to assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervening and evaluating resident care issues while utilizing effective time management and performing nursing skills within the standards set forth by the NYS Practice Act. While utilizing effective communication with all members of the multidisciplinary team, I was involved in establishing a plan of care identifying actual and potential problems and establishing achievable resident outcomes. Duties also included overseeing all operational functions on the evening shift for the facility, supervising all aspects of nursing care of nurse’s aides, home health aides, and medication technicians. I worked closely with the contracted pharmacy to ensure timely delivery and discontinuation of resident medication. I also monitored the storage and administration of medications including controlled substances, and ensured compliance with all applicable NYS laws. I also mediated residents’ ancillary medical necessities including lab orders, x-rays and other consultations and appointments, and reported results to the physicians.
