Administrating network security for a network servicing 18,000+ concurrent users and utilising multiple technologies to ensure an appropriate usability/security balance for the HE environment.As part of this role, I have configured and managed the following platforms;- Identity services- Web filtering- Firewall technologies- IPS/IDS technologies- Switched networking- VPN services- MFA services- Virtualisation technologies- Network monitoring technologies

Primarily providing support for current solutions, solution design, provisioning and build. I worked with a range of technologies including;- Cisco ASA Firewalls, both virtual and physical platforms- Cisco IOS/Nexus layer 2 and 3 routing and switching- Cisco/Sourcefire Firepower servicesThe role promoted interpersonal communication and troubleshooting to assess, discuss and overcome challenges as part of a team, time management to meet deadlines and adhere to service-level agreements as well as identifying and implementing simple solutions to complex problems.Within the role I have administrated enterprise level technologies for award winning solutions and used my knowledge of the industry and newly developed platforms to configure monitoring and automation for products used by the team.

A part time position working for the university, providing IT support to staff and students. Managing part time employment during my studies provided excellent experience in time management and an opportunity to use my skills to give back to my place of education.
