 Supervised financial analyst staff for the Hospital and Foundation. Worked directly for the Vice President of Finance and the Director of Finance on a wide variety of special analysis and financial reporting. Appointed as the accounting manager of Children’s Hospital Foundation in 2002 with assets of $55.7 million and annual expenses of $1.4 million, supervising staff and gaining additional expertise in not-for-profit and fund accounting. Instrumental in the research, accounting and reporting of Children’s first major construction project, a $100 million, 266,000 square feet, 88-bed new facility and existing 54-bed remodel completed in 2000. Prepared all initial and ongoing entries for the Hospital’s $57 million tax exempt bond issue and continue to ensure compliance with ongoing bond covenants. Prepared the monthly and annual Hospital, Foundation and quarterly consolidated financial statements and annual consolidated budget according to GAAP, following the AICPA’s Not-For-Profit Organizations Audit and Accounting Guide. Performed risk financing function by selection and maintenance of all insurance coverage for the Hospital, physicians’ practices and other subsidiaries. Oversaw all internal and external reporting of utilization and financial indicators to financial institutions, bond rating agencies, industry groups, insurers and other parties. Responsible for maintenance and reporting of all contracts with employed and contracted physicians. Maintained, reviewed and reported to management on property leases. Played a key role in the hospital’s general ledger system conversion to Lawson in 2000, including chart of accounts, cost center and report design. Project implementation manager for the hospital’s first independent time reporting system in 2000.
