How Did We Start IT?Our founder, Chris Michalec, has been doing IT work in a paid position since he was 14. Much of his background was in retail computer service with small computer stores in North Carolina and Ohio, and he was fortunate to have bosses that gave him a glimpse into what made their businesses successful. He learned what worked, and also, more importantly, what did not.Too many IT companies were either very good at passing the buck, or so slow and unresponsive that you might wonder if robots would be more personable and helpful. Chris wanted to see an IT company that treated its clients’ business like its own – something that would go beyond the usual platitudes and promises of “the best IT solutions” and really focus on being a partner for clients. A company that would put its money where its mouth was and guarantee their performance.Since he didn’t see that company anywhere else in the Triad area, Chris started it himself. That’s how Parkway came to be.Why Do We Do IT?Our success comes from your success. We can’t grow our own business and show off what we’re good at unless we’re helping you do the same. Our team members may be excellent technicians, but unless we’re working to make our IT solutions work to see your goals accomplished and your growth achieved, our skills don’t amount to much.So that’s why we do this. We love to work with our clients to see them use their IT in ways they didn’t know possible. The moments when we’re told that a new IT solution we developed saved our clients precious time or showed them a new way to get something done – those are what gets us out of bed in the morning and keeps us going when computers start breaking.
