General R Position responsibilities: Supervises and coordinates all Marine Operations, Material movements, and other operations.Key Tasks:• To organize, direct, control and monitor marine / stability operations including preparations for rig moves• Ensure all Class and Flag state certificates are in date• Participate fully in all Sea drill safety initiatives, safety programs and all safety meetings, including weekly, pre-tour and pre-job / toolbox meetings • Must be completely familiar with the Rig’s MARINE OPERATIONS manual and exhibit a good overall knowledge of the rig and its various operations and systems• Have a thorough working knowledge and understanding of Permit to Work System and good understanding of Offshore Safe Working Practices• Initiate and participate in the identification of hazards and assessment of risk and assist in the training of all personnel in their appropriate emergency duties as per the Station Bills• Responsible for ensuring there is sufficient mooring equipment on board for deploying anchors when required • Responsible for the maintenance / replacement of the towing systems and ordering of spares in a timely manner for all marine and safety equipment• Maintain and keep current certification of all lifting equipment in the “Lifting / Rigging Log” for the MODU and re-ordering and replacement of damaged, lost or destroyed lifting / rigging gear from the MODU• Must have advanced knowledge of fire fighting techniques, emergency planning and water survival in relation to MODU’s • Participate and contribute to the objectives described in the MODU’s Annual Plan• Undertake audits and inspections as per Sea drill audit and inspection procedures assist in developing “precautionary evacuation” plans
