Freda Roberts is of the crow clan, a wife, mother, grandmother, and descendant of Hän Hwëch’in. Freda has been an employee of Tr’ondëk Government for many years.For many years, Freda was employed as a TH drug and alcohol counsellor and in that position identified a need to bring tradition and heritage back into peoples lives as a healing tool. Freda is a founding member of the Moosehide gathering, First Hunt programs. Freda in her past role as Cultural Education Coordinator focuses on cultural inclusion in events, programs and activities. Freda’s experience includes cultural tutoring, development and instruction for small cultural projects and hands –on activities for people of diverse age and backgrounds.Freda is also a certified heritage interpreter (Canadian Tourism Association) with skills in research and presentation of heritage tours and cultural special events.Freda has carried on the tradition of hand sewing and bead work and through her work at Dänojà Zho Cultural Centre developed workshops and activities to share basic to advanced sewing skills.Freda Roberts has a wide mandate so that she can make herself available for programming and activities at schools, day care, cultural centre and the health and social house or out on the land.
