CurrentWorked a number of projects to help companies transform their telecommunications needs. One of those companies was El Rancho Foods, a fairly large Taco Bell franchise. The company was still using modems and faxes to do their daily totals and to process their credit card transactions. We proposed and managed a project to transform the way the company communicated while also recognizing that the majority of the connections were going into retail fast food locations. This included SDSL at nearly 90 remote store locations that utilized MPLS to hub/spoke back to the corporate office in Rutherford, NJ. The corporate office was upgrade to have dual Internet connections and dual connections which connected to a global MPLS network. All transactions for credit cards went through this secure network. All Internet access for the sites was managed through dual Juniper firewalls in a full HA configuration to prevent a single point of failure. This eliminated the need for multiple firewalls deployed to each location providing a dramatic cost savings, enhanced security, and easier management of the overall solution. Majestic Networks also did the installations for new credit card processing terminals, routers, and performed any cabling needs at every store location. This was done to save cost from the carrier and to assure quality of the installation plus allow us to have a guaranteed activation process that assured success the first time. This greatly enhanced the speed at which the stores were turned up and converted over to the MPLS network and assisted in pushing forward a rapid implementation of the overall project. Lastly, a Barracuda anti-spam appliance was installed to drastically reduce the amount of junk mail that was coming into the company's Exchange server.
