Managed CTA’s NASA Business Area, including projects involving design and analysis of data processing, command and control, and communications systems, planning of on-orbit satellite servicing missions, and test and verification of spacecraft data systems. Grew CTA’s NASA business from six to forty employees. Consistently exceeded goals for growth, profit, and client satisfaction. Served as a technical expert on NASA’s delegation to the CCSDS. Led CCSDS Working Groups on Packet Telemetry Service Specifications and Conformance Assessment. Led international working group to define protocol for reliable data transfer between earth and the International Space Station. Represented NASA on the AIAA Command and Control Committee, and the Space Communication Protocol Standards Working Group, which adapted Internet protocols to enhance performance in the long-delay, high-error-rate space communications environment. For the DoD Advanced Research Projects Agency DARPA), performed research on multicast data distribution protocols for use in highly asymmetrical, disrupted communications networks.
