In my work, I'm most passionate about process improvement, managing online portals, and developing strong bonds with long-lasting clients.Becoming a subject matter expert with portals and computer software is something that started when I was very young. With a Dad who worked at IBM, I've been using computers (and the internet) since I was 5 years old. I was the kid in computer class who would be messing around in a program while the teacher was still explaining to everyone how to get set up. I would learn the ins-and-outs of every application, web browser, website, and computer game that interested me. I found it so exciting that, as I discovered more features and learned more tricks, I had increased confidence with computers as a whole and fast became a helpful resource for others. Leaning on this skill with computers is what has guided my curiosity and discovery into several other areas of interest! My journey through the health insurance industry has been equal parts challenging and rewarding. When I entered the Billing & Enrollment department at BCBS of WNY, I knew practically nothing about health insurance - but, as I mentioned earlier, I knew I was adept with computers. I was able to lean on that to greatly benefit my team while steadily learning all I could about benefits, plans, and the way groups utilized them. As I got settled in, I discovered a deep joy in the connections formed with both client contacts and the brokers who often represented them, finding endless delight in swiftly championing tasks they needed accomplished or troubleshooting problems for them. It was this joy that lead me to the Sales team at BCBS of WNY and, eventually, into the broker world at Sheridan Benefits.While at Sheridan Benefits, I've only further solidified my love of forming bonds with clients, being their go-to contact, and striving to be the best part of their day. As I have, I've gradually been introduced to a variety of other tasks and responsibilities; among them being HR/training/enrollment portals, Excel spreadsheets, and process analysis/improvement. I quickly realized that these areas not only catered to my skillset but also how I functioned as a person. As I progress and develop in my career, I aim to continue my education in these areas while allowing my passion to guide me forward!
