As a Material Coordinator at Tri-Star, I was responsible for overseeing the entire procurement process and managing the supply chain for our projects. My duties included managing the purchase of materials and equipment, tracking inventory, and ensuring that all materials were delivered on time and to the correct job site. I worked closely with project managers and other stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies that aligned with project timelines and budgets. Additionally, I was responsible for the negotiation of prices and terms with suppliers and vendors, and for maintaining records of all purchase orders and invoices. Furthermore, I was in charge of ensuring all the materials that are being procured are compliant with the project requirements, such as quality, safety and environmental standards. Through these responsibilities, I developed a deep understanding of the construction industry and its supply chain, becoming a valuable asset to the Tri-Star team

My role involved conducting assessments of clients' procurement processes and identifying areas for improvement that would increase their B-BBEE scorecard. Additionally, I was responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that aligned with B-BBEE regulations, and providing guidance and support to clients in their vendor selection and management. I also focused on developing and implementing skills development programs for clients' workforce to improve their skills and qualifications and align with B-BBEE requirements. I also worked closely with clients to develop and implement enterprise and supplier development plans that are key for B-BBEE compliance, as well as mentored and provided training to clients' teams. Through my expertise and experience in B-BBEE compliance and procurement, I was able to help clients improve their B-BBEE scorecard, and support their growth and development, while ensuring that the skills development plans and initiatives were sustainable.
