Straight out of business school, I began my career wanting to be a strategy management consultant! I tried it for about 5 months and it was so unbelievably boring as a graduate. I left and ended up in a sales job in publishing that would turn out to change my life. A few years later I started Raconteur at age 27, one week after Lehman Brothers and the world economy crashed to historic lows. Despite this, we made almost £1m net profit in our first year! For this achievement, me and my co-founder were awarded ‘Young Entrepreneurs of the Year’ at the UK’s largest award show for startups. Not that I’m bragging or anything.Over the next 10 years, I built Raconteur from an outsourced market reports company to The Times and The Sunday Times into one of the best business publishers and content marketing agencies in the UK, turning over £9 million and employing around 70 people. Along the way I worked with a supremely talented, loyal and fantastic group of people. The team spirit and togetherness of the core group is the thing that I am most proud of. Together we built a company based on excellence with a client list of who’s-who in terms of B2B brands (mostly) and had a lot of fun (and jolts of pain) along the way. After moving to Marbella the day before lockdown, I have mostly been doing marketing consultancy work whilst simultaneously starting a boutique property development firm. Lately, I’m also fortunate enough to be part of the Diana Morales Knight Frank network where I assist billionaires in choosing which mega mansion to buy in Marbella and how to fit their entire car collection into tiny ten-car garages. It’s hard work but someone has to do it. I've been meaning to rewrite this for years, staring at it often. Well now I have. That’s me.
