I have been a special needs technician for the last decadein the education field. After so long in my field of work, I decided to take a chance tofollow my dreams and become a writer. After some hesitation, I finally took the time to fitgoing back to school in my daily life. As someone who has seen firsthand the strugglesthat many students with disabilities go through, I wanted to showcase that in my work asa writer. For my first screenplay, I wrote about students with disabilities andhow they are strong and smart enough to not just take care of themselves by findingtheir inner strength, but also help others out of kindness. As a writer, I want to spotlightthe human condition in all its forms and ,no matter the person, be able to grow and learnabout ourselves and others.Through this, I have gotten the chance to be able to better my writing, but also betterthe way I see things through the lenses of other people and the struggles they face.This has been a skill that has helped me to write some great screenplays about peopleand how they see problems, roadblocks, and setbacks as not just inconveniences, butas a chance to better themselves as people and human beings. As someone who hasalso seen these struggles, I have also seen the triumphs that come from hard work anddedication. I want to take this and show the world that we have setbacks anddisappointments, but that doesn't have to be the end and that we can take the negativesand they can blossom into learning experiences that make life better.
