Apr 2014 - Jun 2014

Phd Candidate

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

My thesis aimed to understand how the plant pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum deploys its pathogenicity program during plant infection. For that I developed a set of molecular tools that allowed a cheap and non-disruptive analysis of bacterial gene expression during plant infection. I also designed an adaptor plasmid to broaden the uses of the system to distantly evolved strains. During my research I also trained undergraduate students.

Jun 2009 - Jun 2013

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Atrian Lab

I joined Prof. Dr. Silvia Atrian group as an undergraduate student, supported by the ERASMUS program. In her lab I was introduced to general molecular biology and protein expression techniques.During my training I participated in the setting up of an AKTA FPLC automated platform. I also participated directly in the analytical characterization of the purified metallothioneins metallothioneins, by setting up new protocols. A big part of the work was performed in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Merce Capdevila, with whom I had the opportunity to work and discuss about research progress. As a result of my internship I co-authored three publications from the group.
