Frederic Bonvin represents Switzerland on site (Washington D.C.) as technical liaison between the F35 JPO and national program stakeholders and manage technical activities for the successful integration of F35 related systems into national systems.Within armasuisse Frederic Bonvin was also responsible of the technical lead of one major project of the Swiss department of defense: renewal of airport surveillance and approach radars. His tasks include tests coordination with armasuisse test team, sky guide, Swiss Air Force, Vendor (Finmeccanica, Airbus, RRS), meteosuisse. Those tests include Ground tests on the Airbase and Flight tests mostly with PC12, F5, Heli. He also participates in the evaluation of new radar technologies for the Swiss department of defense. Previously Frederic Bonvin was a technical marketing manager in USA and Asia for STMicroelectronics. Close to his customers, he lead and represented his team located all around the globe and coached many engineers in US and Asia to follow his path . In the fast moving market of hard disk drives, he has been entrusted of insuring a smooth integration of STM components or recovering of nearly desperate situations for the customer product.During his 10 years+ in the Disk Drive industry, Frederic had showed the ability to take complex ideas, and make them understandable for his colleagues or customers. He is also recognized as independent thinker who constructively challenges his team to reach the best performance. By listening and solving customer's issues, Frederic had developed creative methods and his patents have showed a great market anticipation. His thirst to improve knowledge among engineers and international mind moved him to USA and Asia to expand STM customized product portfolio to Singapore, Korea and Japan. His unique combined education with a PhD in electro-mechanical drivers and his Captain position in the Swiss Air Force gives Frederic the sharpness and sense of urgency needed.
