Responsible for INNIO's Global Mechanical Simulation Team, constituting of 15+ mechanical engineers supporting gas engine development, from Thermo-Mechanical, Genset Dynamic, Transient, Torsional Vibrations, 1D Valvetrain & EHD analyses. Focused on analysis-led design, durability (LCF, TMF, HCF, Fretting Fatigue, etc.) and structural optimization, the team's role is to provide expert knowledge to the engineering organization and guide the product development across its lifecycle, from NTI, NPI to RCAs.

Responsible for the coordination and development of FEA Digital Thread workflows for core reciprocating engine components (ACT Wizard & Extension development). Conduction, support and coordination of analysis led design activities across the product lifecycle (NTIs, NPIs, NCAs & RCAs), liaising with various stakeholders and sites. Planning of NTI activities and focus on design for reliability, and probabilistic design using Lean 6S DFSS methods and DOE tools. Competitor landscape assessment, exploration of IP opportunities and redaction of patent applications.

Responsible for the coordination and development of FEA Digital Thread workflows for major reciprocating engine components (cylinder head, crankcase, liner, conrod, etc). Support and coordination of analysis activities across the product lifecycle (NTIs, NPIs, NCAs & RCAs), liaising with various stakeholders and sites. Alignment of material testing priorities with high value programs and migration to globally deployed database. Focus on design for reliability, and probabilistic design using Lean 6S DFSS methods and tools. Competitor landscape assessment, exploration of IP opportunities and redaction of patent applications. Part of the ANSYS Technical Review Board for GE Distributed Power and GE ANSYS Core team, and Mechanical Integrity team. Exploring Additive Manufacturing and Generative Design philosophies.

Conduction of multi-disciplinary investigation and analysis for GE Distributed Power, more specifically Jenbacher reciprocating engines, supporting RCAs, NCAs, NTIs & NPIs. Development of FE models, design studies and LCF, HCF, TMF analyses. Usage of Lean 6S DFSS methods and tools. Simulation packaging through the development of a work breakdown structure, to facilitate planning and resource allocation.

Rotation 4: Conduction of thermo-mechanical FE simulations for GE Jenbacher reciprocating engine. Development of work-breakdown structure for cross-platform simulation/analyses mapping within the toll-gate process and FMEA. Conduction of drivetrain torsional vibration analyses. Static & dynamic analyses of piping systems.Corollary project entailed the optimization of the hydraulic integration of an heat recovery system using GE's 125kW Clean Cycle (Organic Rankine Cycle) which yielded a 16% increase in throughput at no additional cost of investment, increasing the specific value of the J412 B25 biogas unit.

Rotation 3:As part of the mechanics team at GE Jenbacher GmbH, I was responsible for carrying a gen-set alignment study and optimizing mounting strategies for engines and generators.Corollary duties include continuous cross-functional support for a structural wind turbine blade NTI project. US Patent holder for novel wind turbine blade root concept.

Rotation 2:Second assignment entailed the modeling of a space-frame-tower for multi-megawatt wind turbines within a multibody simulation environment for load determination prior to prototyping. Corollary duties include cross-functional support for a structural wind turbine blade NTI project. US Patent holder for novel wind turbine blade root concept.Rotation 1:Assignment pertained to the tuning of an acoustic simulation tool for wind turbine blade noise emission predictions. Corollary responsibilities included low-noise field test campaign data analysis and post-processing.

Thesis objective was to identify betterment avenues for multi-megawatt wind turbine blade root connections. This exercise entailed the conduction of a multi-variable DOE under the APDL Ansys FEA environment and run through Matlab. A DFSS approach was used through the course of the project, and interpretation of the fitness of the solutions was rendered feasible by answering the CTQs associated with the inherent problematic.
