About Frédéric Gemme
I have a passion for building science and engineering. At the City of Montreal, I lead a team of architects, engineers and building experts in our mission, which consists in providing expertise and technical support to the project, maintenance and asset management teams. We contribute to reaching carboneutrality by 2030.I previously worked for the past 19 years in high-potential small size companies in the field of design and manufacturing of metallic structural components for the transportation and housing industries. I have acquired a strong technical background in material processing and manufacturing, structural and industrial design, as well as building information modeling (BIM) and building envelope design.Over my recent tenure at CN and Direxyon, I helped organizations create strong strategic investment planning strategies and he was responsible for the alignment of the IT master plan for Engineering with CN's corporate strategy. I helped Engineering in their transformation towards automation, data-driven decision-making and strategic management of resources.During my tenure as Vice-President, Operations at BONE Structure from 2010 to 2017, I contributed to the fast evolution of the company in the residential building sector. I have built a multidisciplinary team, growing from 10 to 30 individuals, responsible for architecture, engineering, interior design, procurement and project management for several hundreds of projects throughout Canada and the United States. I have a strong interest in process implementation, organizational development and innovationmanagement, always driven by the improvement of operational efficiency and aligned with the customer needs. I have successfully led the implementation of a project management process and the supporting technology throughout the company and has managed the development of business process applications. I enjoy running, cooking and volunteering at my four children’s school and soccer club.
