In addition to the job responsibilities of the P/T EMS Program Director position, I was moved to a full-time position to create and run an A.A.S. in Emergency Medical Sciences Degree Program,largely in part due to the $370,000 grant from the State of North Carolina we were awarded. In my role as an Adjunct Professor:I formulated topic guidelines as per North Carolina continuing education requisites as part of NCOEMS for EMTs and paramedics.I also delivered comprehensive guidance through classroom, recorded, and online sessions.My key contribution includes:• Developed, updated, and instructed courses within the Public Safety Division certificate and degree programs.• Online and onsite instruction, including live classroom sessions, pre-recorded and online lessons.

In my role as Opioid Preparedness Outreach Coordinator for Region One:I oversaw the Greater New Orleans Hepatitis C elimination symposium and represented the department, Region One that resulted in bringing up to 100 stakeholders in screening, linkage to care, and treatment as well as stigma reduction.I educated the public on available resources and services relating to opioid, while preventing opioid overdose by implementing evidence-based strategies.I also delivered community awareness trainings, educating community to obtain and administer life-saving care.I contributed to public awareness initiatives and provided linkages to effected individuals for better treatment and recovery.I identified and targeted communities for outreach and training and prepared training materials and promoted webinars for general public and medical/health care personnel.My key contributions include:• Offered trainings for Louisiana ESF-8 partners, emergency workers, and volunteers on disaster operations relating to recognition and respond to opioid use disorder.• Supported local communities in accessing required resources to prevent opioid-related incidents.• Delivered education to 170 health care professionals and 207 community members across 25 training sessions.
