Horizons Transitions est un bureau d'études structure, intervenant pour tous types d'ouvrages et développant une spécialité pour les matériaux biosourcés et géosourcés tels que la terre crue, la paille, le chanvre ou encore la pierre.Implanté à Rennes, nous pouvons toutefois intervenir sur tout le territoire national.

Structural engineer on new-built and rehabilitation works for offices, housing, recreational as well as civil infrastructure. Strong emphasis on low-carbon & natural materials and establishing a structural timber excellence cell within DVVD.

Design engineer in the cable structures division of Freyssinet Major Projects branch.Missions include:• Design of stay-cables and related elements• Preparation of construction and installation procedures• Production follow-up• Site construction follow-up/assistance• Research and developmentSince joining Freyssinet, I have been in charge of three stay cables and ancillary equipment execution packages in the USA and Panama for major infrastructure projects. In addition, I have been in charge of several tender packages for bridges and buildings in several international locations.

• Developed a software that evaluates post-earthquake vulnerability of various building types;• Self-taught VBA for Excel and SQLite in 1 month, up to usable-level skill;• 4 on-site inspection visits to gather data and confirm key factors;• Reviewed post-earthquake grading systems from various countries (USA, Canada, New-Zealand, Japan, Switzerland, Italy).Project title: Development and assessment of an application to evaluate post-earthquake vulnerability of schools in Québec, as part of a strategic plan for seismic evaluation of buildings over the whole province of Québec.

• Feasibility analysis and design of modular precast floor-and-ceiling elements for a high-rise building in a high-density urban area;• Evaluation of multi material solutions (wood/reinforced concrete/steel andhybrids), 3D modeling, and grading for selection;• Wrote a diagnosis report for a “Monument historique” classified castle;• Design masonry rehabilitation and repair solutions for an historical monument (chimney top stabilization and medieval tower wall stitching).
