The Eclipse Foundation established a category A liaison with SC 41 to participate in the evolution of international standards related to IoT and digital twins. As a liaison representative, I participate in subcommittee activities and discussions, including plenary meetings. I also coordinated the transposition of Sparkplug, an Eclipse technology, to an international standard (ISO/IEC 20237) through the Publicly Available Specification (PAS) process.

The Eclipse Foundation provides individuals and organizations with a business-friendly environment for open-source software collaboration and innovation. The Foundation is home to the Eclipse IDE, Jakarta EE, and over 415 projects, including runtimes, tools, specifications, and frameworks for cloud and edge applications, embedded, IoT, AI, automotive, and more. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization supported by over 350 members. I oversee the Foundation’s portfolio of Embedded, IoT and Edge Computing initiatives. This includes the Eclipse IoT and Sparkplug working groups, the ThreadX special interest group, and over fifty open-source projects. My main responsibilities include:- Facilitating strategy discussions at the steering committee and committer levels.- Mobilizing community members to foster developer awareness and technology adoption.- Define KPIs and monitor them.- Driving the definition and adoption of program plans and budgets for the two working groups.- Organizing events, such as community meetings, webinars, conferences, and hackathons.- Managing budgets and other programs, such as the Eclipse IoT internship program and the Sparkplug compatibility program.- Representing the community at industry conferences and in other settings.- Leading the transposition of Eclipse specifications as international standards at ISO/IEC JTC 1. I am the Foundation’s main liaison representative to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 38 (Cloud computing and distributed platforms) and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 41 (Internet of things and digital twin). - Driving the transition of Azure RTOS to the Eclipse ThreadX open source project, including the launch of the brand-new ThreadX Alliance program.- Contributing to the definition and deployment of the Eclipse safety process for open source projects undergoing certification for use in safety-critical use cases.- Evangelizing Eclipse IoT and Edge technologies to drive awareness, adoption and community growth.

BOSH (https://bosh.io) is an open source project that unifies release engineering, deployment, and lifecycle management of Cloud software. BOSH can provision and deploy software over hundreds of VMs. It also performs monitoring, failure recovery, and software updates with minimal downtime. While BOSH was developed initially to deploy the Cloud Foundry PaaS, it can also be used to deploy almost any other software. Moreover, BOSH supports multiple Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) providers such as VMware vSphere, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services EC2, Microsoft Azure, and OpenStack. As one of the two BOSH Product Managers, I define and drive our product strategy, vision and roadmap. I work with the team to drive product requirements, design and prototyping to discover customer problems and deliver value. I define and prioritize a backlog for the team, and help it improve its agile process. Part of my job is also to engage Pivotal's customers and our larger open source community.

The Cisco Toronto Innovation Centre is designed to break the status quo by bringing together customers, partners, startups, universities and open communities to inspire, innovate and invest. It is focused on building solutions and advancing projects in the areas of Urban Innovation (smart cities, buildings and clean tech), Healthcare and Financial Services.I was the Centre's senior technical leader, and drove the technology vision of projects that brought together customers, sales, internal engineering teams and external partners. I had to translate requirements from various sources into architectures that drove new solutions and products that leveraged networks, connected objects and software components. I typically discovered those requirements through structured activities such as design sprints that I ran myself. Most of the solutions I worked on involved containers, microservices, machine learning and IoT devices. During my tenure, I evaluated more than 10 startups and helped deliver four distinct solutions. These efforts resulted in more than 50 millions (CAD) of direct and indirect revenue influence.

This was a non-traditional position blending the responsibilities of a Solution Architect, Product Manager and pre-sales consultant. I acquired expertise about iOS and Android native development, and also worked with the Xamarin platform. I also built apps Oracle's own Mobile Application Framework (MAF) and JavaScript Extension Toolkit (JET).I was a key contributor to the Oracle Mobile Platform YouTube channel, having recorded more than 25 episodes on various topics. I regularly speak at large well-known Oracle-focused conferences, such as ODTUG KScope, IOUG Collaborate and Oracle OpenWorld. I also had the opportunity to present at several local Oracle user group meetings over the years.
